Law studies are undergraduate and graduate academic program offered by law schools. It is common for students to specialize in a field within the law discipline such as Business Law, International Law, Environmental Law, Finance Law, Criminal Law, Tax Law, etc.


Exams conducted for different colleges are:


  1. Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)


Eligibility Criteria as prescribed by the CLAT 2019 committee is as follows:


Educational Qualification for CLAT 2020:


  • Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with the minimum of:


  1. 45% marks in case of candidates belonging to unreserved/OBC/SAP categories

  2. 40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category.


  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2020 are also eligible for appearing in 2020 examination. However, they are required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission. 


Age limit for CLAT 2020:

  • There is no upper age limit to appear for CLAT 2020


Test Format


Like any other aptitude test, CLAT is also designed to test the aptitude level of the candidate. The pattern of CLAT remains the same every year. Table given below will provide you with a complete insight into it.

Selection Criteria :

  • Tie-Breaking:
    In the event of equal marks scored by multiple candidates, tie breaking procedure would be as under:

      1. Higher Marks in Legal Aptitude

      2. Higher Age

                                    3. Computerized draw of lots

    Admission to B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) degree is based on the score in All India Entrance Examination (AILET).

    Eligibility criteria for AILET 2018:

    • Candidate should have passed Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or Equivalent Examination with 50% marks.
    • Candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April, 2018 can also appear for the test on condition that they produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the prescribed marks at the time of interview.

    • There is no upper limit to appear for AILET 2018.
    • Candidates who get compartment in any subject in the qualifying examination are not eligible for admission in that year.

        • Candidate should score at least 40% of the marks in AILET (30% for SC/ST candidates).

      Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT)

      Symbiosis law schools offer 5-year B.A. / B.B.A. LL.B., 3-Year LL.B. and LL.M. and diploma programs in law. Symbiosis law schools are located in Pune, Noida and Hyderabad. Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) is a common written test for the admission processes at the undergraduate institutes of Symbiosis International University, including Symbiosis Law School. SET 2019 will administered in 85 cities across the country.

      The list of these cities is published every year on the official website created for SET.

      Eligibility for SLAT

      Eligibility criteria as notified in SLAT 2019 bulletin is as under:

      1. The candidate should have passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognized Board with a minimum of 45% marks
      2. Minimum 40% marks for S.C. /S.T. candidates
      3. Students who have appeared for their Standard XII final examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate at the time of the final admission.

    FORMAT OF SLAT 2018

      Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) is an aptitude test and is objective in nature (for all the papers). SLAT 2018 will conducted in the following pattern:
